I Am a...
Digital Economic Development Executive

Duane Lavery

“Digital EDU reinforced that the digital marketing and recruitment tools that we are using are in line with what is needed to succeed in today’s digital economic development world.” - Duane Lavery, Certified Digital Economic Development Executive

Knowing the impact the digital age was having on the economic development industry, Duane Lavery enrolled for Digital Economic Development University in its first year and completed all 13 courses and earned his Digital Economic Development Executive certification, becoming a “triple threat” in digital economic development.

In addition to his own personal certification in digital economic development marketing, research, and business development, Duane also completed the Certified Digital EDO track for HTL Advantage, focusing on economic development for western Tennessee.

Being a small EDO, Duane was able to leverage the digital skills he learned to make the decision to update the EDO’s website to include workforce, labor, and property data to help site selectors make more informed location decisions.

Additionally, Duane not only learned new skills to help his EDO compete online, but also reassured him that many of his other digital initiatives were on the right track and helping put HTL Advantage and western Tennessee “on the map”.

Jessica Erickson

Jessica Erickson, President of the Longmont Economic Development Partnership, is no stranger to using digital tools to support the goals of Longmont EDP. Managing digital systems such as the organization's’ website, CRM system, property database, email, and social media, Jessica is able to help engage the community, partners, and prospects digitally.

Through Jessica and her staff’s digital efforts, Longmont EDP experiences over 600 website visits, 35+ property searches, and almost 40 new contacts per month on average. Not only has the EDO’s use of digital tools help save time for staff, but also provides great results regarding digital interactions for the organization.

Before Jessica joined the Longmont Economic Development Partnership, she held positions at the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, the City of Thornton, and the Broomfield Economic Development Corporation. Jessica is also a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), and has over 13 years of experience in the economic development industry.
